Introduced to Reiki in 1995 and Jin Shin Jyutsu in 1996, Karen has a deep passion and belief in both of these Japanese Arts. Jin Shin Jyutsu is a lifetime study of which Karen commits herself to by attending a regular study group and continuing education classes.
The pathway of Eastern Arts eventually led Karen to become a massage therapist. In 2002 she attended The Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy in Colorado Springs and graduated top of her class. Karen has had a private practice in Woodland Park since 2003. Karen's approach touches every aspect of wellness.
Through her knowledge and education, Karen helps restore balance to her clients. In addition to massage therapy techniques, her 'toolbox' includes structural analysis, isometrics, hot stones, and Young Living essential oils.
"We maintain vibrant health through the balance of a healthy diet, regular exercise, and good sleep. Massage therapy, once considered a luxury, is just as imperative in reducing stress and supporting our overall health."

"I approach every session as a detective. I listen to what my client is sharing as to how they feel and then it is my job to look for the possible underlying causes. I believe in treating the whole picture versus spot treating. The result will last longer!"

"Environment is very important during a massage or any kind of bodywork. My setting is very clean, quiet and comfortable. Relax with soft lighting, salt lamps, plants, beautiful and changing art, antiques, and if there's a breeze...the sound of birds and wind chimes."
Karen offers sessions to best meet your needs. Sometimes we need deep tissue massage with trigger point release work to really get at that deep set-in tension and restriction in the muscles and other times we need to simply relax with a gentler Swedish approach.
If choosing to combine massage therapy with Jin Shin Jyutsu or Reiki, one is offered a unique and powerful experience supporting our physical, mental and emotional well-being; thus blending Eastern and Western Arts.
Enjoy a comfy, heated massage table, heated lotion (paraben and fragrance free) and Young Living massage oils.
Hot stones and warm towels in every massage!
